DITA 1.2 OASIS approval schedule

As the DITA TC approaches the formal OASIS approval cycle for DITA 1.2, we'll follow a sequence of milestones as we did for DITA 1.1. Dates will be determined after the TC approves a Committee Draft for public review (kickoff for the timeline).

Our previous 1.1 schedule was as follows:

• DITA 1.1 review schedule:

x start 60-day public review: 5 March
x end 60-day public review: 4 May
x 7-day comment period before CS vote can launch: 11 May
x CS/OS Submission ballot (7 days): 14 - 21 May
x OS Submission to TC Administrator: 15 June
x Familiarization announcement: 1 July
x Ballot start/close: 16 - 31 July
x Standard Announcement: 1 August
   formally announced Aug 14, 2007!  This schedule will be reset for DITA 1.2 as it enters review.

If NO comments are received, the 7-day comment period is waived:

_ end 60-day public review: 4 May
_ CS/OS Submission ballot (7 days): 7 - 14 May
_ OS Submission to TC Administrator: 15 May
_ Familiarization announcement: 1 June
