November - December - We tackle processing, with primary target of SCORM and secondary target PDF, according to our Phased Design Plan. The processing would get delivered separately from the DTD/schema designs and language specification, and made available to the community as part of a DITA Open Toolkit plugin module on a schedule TBD.

Minutes
Attendees: John Hunt, Robin Sloan, Reuben Tozman.
No quorum. We discussed processing priorities.
SCORM is the highest priority processing target, but SCORM is a big thing. What are the priorities for SCORM processing?
- Need to be able to package content according to the SCORM packaging standard.
- Need to accept and transmit calls with a SCORM LMS.
- SCORM package must have:
- imsmanifest.xml
- What sub-set do we need to support?
DITAmap -> imsmanifest
- For SCORM, we need to treat linking specially.
- Even within a SCO, need to be concerned.
- We need to prevent links to other sco's.
- Our learning map domain limits topicrefs in a learningObject to a flat list, so we're okay there.
- We can also control the map-driven processing of links.
- We will need best practices for other kinds of linking, including reltables, though we can add filters to the processing for those links.
- Within a SCO, keep linking to next and previous only.
- Also, there's the case of linking internally within a company intranet.
- A SCORM package really has no main menu - the LMS would derive this by reading the imsmanifest.
- What sub-set do we need to support?
- Do we support the SCORM index file?
- Q - do we want to provide an alternative "mini-runtime" environment? That is, a set of html files that can be viewed (and perhaps provide some function for sequencing or interactions) outside the context of an LMS.
- Robin - What if you own an LMS, and you want to test/review the material outside of the LMS?
Reuben - EdCetra provides a dual-purpose package, where the same set of files can run both in SCORM LMS and
- as a stand-alone CD.
- They have found that an autorun CD is the simplest option for distributing content on a CD.
- Probably need a package that does not require an writing to a local drive.
- What kind of PDF support?
- To pick up a discuss from here next meeting.
- imsmanifest.xml
