Question: A voter may have to use several different identifiers in order to cast his/her vote. They may be allocated a unique number by the voting system, eg, an electoral number, and they may also have to provide the ID from a formal document like a driver’s licence or a birth certificate or a Social Security Number. Can you tell me how to record these various identifiers within EML?

TC Answer: Version 5.0 of EML has introduced a new VoterID element on VoterIdentificationStructure replacing the previous ID element. This VoterID is repeatable and can be used to note any type and any number of IDs be it an allocated number or the ID from an identification document.
