Requirements SC
Summary
This is the home Wikipage for the OpenDocument Requirements sub-committee (occasionally referred to as ODFNext) . The Requirements SC is responsible for collecting requirements for the next generation of ODF (v1.3 or v2.0?).
Communication
Sending a requirement to the sub-committee requires sending an email via the ODF Technical Committee comment list. This is a two step process:
Subscribe to the comment list. Read the instructions here on how to do this.
- Send an email to the odf comments list with "Requirement" as the subject. The body of the message should conform with the template laid out below.
Optionally unsubscribe from the comments list by sending an unsubscribe email [office-comment-unsubscribe@lists.oasis-open.org].
Because this mail will be interspersed with all the the other traffic on the comments list, it is really important that you make use of the template and prescribed subject key in order to ensure that Requirements for the sub-committee are efficiently captured without disrupting the work of others monitoring the comments list.
Email Template
Use the following template to format the body of your email message:
+NAME Joe Bloggs +CONTACT joebloggs@jb.com +CATEGORY (select one or more from below) editing/formatting/import-export/other +SCOPE (select one or more from below) text/spreadsheet/presentation/database/packaging/general/other +USE CASE your text here ... +DESCRIPTION your text here ...
Send a message
Provided you have (1) joined the comments list and (2) copied the text of the template above to your clipboard, you can send a message to the sub-committee by clicking this link and pasting in the text from your clipboard.
