NOTE: This wiki is provided by the OASIS standards consortium as a collaborative tool for members of the OASIS Security Services Technical Committee, who are permitted to post to these pages. As this is an official workspace of the TC, the OASIS IPR Policy and other OASIS rules apply to its use. To learn more about the work of the TC, send a comment, or join this effort, visit the OASIS Security Services TC homepage.

Wiki pages are transient documents, so intermediate edits may not be saved. TC members should move all permanent work and stable artifacts to the TC's document repository, where the archival work product of the TC also can be viewed by the public.

This is the official Wiki of the OASIS Security Services (SAML) Technical Committee.

Most of this page is taken up in organizing and reporting on the status of TC work items. Each item has its own topic that will contain links to versions of those work items over their life cycle, and you can find them collected below in sections identifying the maturity of various work.

Near the beginning you will find reference links to the actual SAML standards themselves.

SAML V2.0 Standard

SAML V2.0 was approved as an OASIS Standard in March 2005.

The original SAML 2.0 OASIS Standard set (PDF format) and XML Schema files are available in this ZIP file. You should not use thhis without consulting/reviewing the Approved Errata.

Approved Errata for SAML V2.0 was last produced by the SSTC on 1 May 2012. In addition to the normative errata document, the following non-normative "errata composite" documents are available that combine *some* of the prescribed corrections with the original specification text, illustrating the changes with margin change bars, struck-through original text, and highlighted new text.

These documents are not fully inclusive of all of the errata; they were produced from the previous version and are missing the more recent additions, but they are the most usable of any existing documents. The TC, as a volunteer group, has not identified resources able to update these documents.

The original approved specification set (without errata markup) consists of the following. As noted above, you should not use these without consulting the Approved Errata

Additional schemas, some of which have been subsequently superseded, can be found in the various specifications.

In addition to the original standard, two subsequent specifications reached the level of OASIS Standard:

Also, two profiles found in the original specification have formal updates:
