4) Status of public reviews

MQTT Version 5.0 CSPRD01 - ends 08 September 2017

Patrick comments on MQTT v5.0 - impressed with what they have accomplished. Clearly they took previous feedback seriously. Some comments to offer but minor compared with first time around.

5) Status of action items

- Chet to send cleaned up list of tasks to Board for comment
Done. Closed.

-Chet - update template and share with TAB
Done. Closed.

6) Jacques demo of Google Sheets application

Jacques gave an overview of Google Sheet and the development environment. Demonstrated a prototype he is doing for another organization.

Data is on the server side in a Google Sheet. All processing done via Java in client side HTML page.

It is a way to develop a simple applications with minimal coding.

We may explore this for developing a simple OASIS spec metadata database.

7) AOB

No other business raised.

Next meeting will be 29 Sept. 2017 at 3:00 PM EDT.

ChetE: 4) Public reviews
ChetE: P: comments to the TAB on MQTT v5.0 - impressed with what they have accomplished. if they were to add a scope statement, you could send this to ISO without much more work. They took advice to heart.
ChetE: The work they did is excellent.

ChetE: 5) action items
ChetE: - Chet to send cleaned up list of tasks to Board for comment
ChetE: Closed.
ChetE: - Chet - update template and share with TAB
ChetE: Closed.
ChetE: 6) Jacque's demo of Google Sheets
ChetE: Work in progress
ChetE: Prototype is non-OASIS content
ChetE: Overview of Google Sheet and development environment
ChetE: Shows the sample OASIS data in a Google Sheet
ChetE: This data would be on the server side - all other actions on it would be client side development
ChetE: Demoing his prototype with another data set
ChetE: Data is a mix of multi-value data and free text
ChetE: Way to develop simple applications with almost no coding. With some code, can make it more sophisticated.
ChetE: A: why not use a relational DB? J: one thing is this can be more lightweight to set up and develop
ChetE: J: this could work with any database that offered a REST API available to Java code

Patrick: Suggested additional fields, TAB Comments on drafts, Comment resolution log by TC, with links

ChetE: Yes, those would be great additions.
